Tire Press Technician

Forklifts of Michigan is looking for an entry level Tire Press Technician to operate out of our 7410 Expressway Dr SW, Grand Rapids location. We work on LP, diesel, and electric forklifts of all sizes; scissor and boom lifts; floor cleaning equipment and much more!
Compensation rate is based on experience level, ranging from $20-23/hour
The Tire Press Technician position is primarily Monday-Friday, first shift hours, averaging 40 hours a week. Vehicle, laptop, cell phone reimbursement and PAID TRAINING provided. This position would utilize a company vehicle regionally and therefore requires a valid, good standing driver’s license.
Forklifts of Michigan has a strict drug-free policy and any position with the company would require a pre-employment drug screen, including marijuana, as well as a physical exam and a background check.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Tire Press Technician travels to customer locations, using a company service vehicle, to perform onsite repairs, maintenance and replacements for tires and operation of a tire press machine.
Skills and Experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and/or experience
- Diagnostic and repair skills
- Outstanding communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 120 lbs.
- Valid Driver's License in good standing
- (Preferred) Chauffer's License
- Utilize technology such as a laptop or tablet
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate mobile tire press vehicle
- Dismount and mount all types of tires
- Safely remove, roll, and position tire on the press
- Prepare tire press to press tires and hubs together
- Assemble components per specifications
- Load and unload tires
- Maintain inventory levels in service vehicle
- Clean and maintain service vehicle
- Participate in other job-related duties
ABOUT ONBOARDING and TRAINING
We train people that have been working in the industry and who are new to it. Once hired, the technician will automatically be enrolled into our training program. The program and trainings are completely paid for and offer classroom, hands-on/job shadow, online learning and mentoring.
No tools, no problem! Our “Tools for Technicians” program provides all the tools you need upon onboarding. It’s an 18-month program and when completed the tools are property of the tech! Throughout the training we offer multiple opportunities to gain certifications and put money in your pocket that can be used for more/new tools.
